A few months ago I wrote about several things Republicans were doing that did not seem conservative to me, yet many of these Republicans claim to be conservative or even very or extremely conservative.
My list of not conservative things included:
There is nothing conservative about overturning the results of an election.
There is nothing conservative about physically attacking Congress.
There is nothing conservative about stealing and trying to keep national security documents.
Now that is apparent that we will reach the debt ceiling soon and the Speaker of the House and other Republicans may prevent solving this problem, I would like to add another item.
Since a failure to increase the debt ceiling blocks our country from paying our debts which funded programs already approved by Congress, this is a major problem. I believe Congress should discuss programs as we go forward but we should pay our debts.
So although it seems fairly obvious I think someone really needs to remind some that failure to repay valid debts is not conservative.
