A Life Care Plan: Helping You Navigate The Aging Journey

I had my reservations about this book after reading the first few pages. It seemed like a promotional advertisement for a specific firm. The full title is A Life Care Plan: Helping You Navigate The Aging Journey by Barbara McGinnis; Bryan J Adler; Tim Takacs; Jerold Rothkoff; Debra King; Kathleen Magee; Jacinda Graham

But after reading a bit I did agree with the authors’ contention that elder law is a very specialized area of the law and very expensive mistakes can be made by the general practitioner when trying to do something complicated like shielding assets so they will not be counted in Medicaid decisions. The book also contain a wealth of information that is helpful in thinking about aging.

I liked the idea of a single practice that could address multiple aspects of Life Care planning for aging. In that respect it reminded me a bit of a book I read recently on money management for the retired or those thinking about it- see https://www.jackreidy.com/blog/2022/08/16/dont-run-out-of-money-in-retirement/

The book comes out on Oct 4 so it is something to think about. I thank Netgalley for the chance to read it before publication.
