A few days ago, I wrote about the difficulty of calling out the group of Republicans who support former President Trump and excuse his actions in Sorting Republicans. I don’t think it is easy finding a good way to identify sub-groups.

The Republican Party used to be highly principled and an important part of our democracy. But now many seem to favor various conspiracy theories, favor insurrection, or belief increasing their power is more important than voting and democracy. The party is clearly divided into two or more camps.

Sadly the MAGA Republicans seem to have captured the official party. If you don’t agree with the MAGA crowd make that clear in talking with your friends. If there are enough traditional Republicans maybe they can take the party back to conservative ideals. Maybe the GOP needs some major defeats before it comes to it’s senses.

In that post I pointed out that-

There is nothing conservative about overturning the results of an election.

There is nothing conservative about physically attacking Congress.

Do I really need to add this ? –

There is nothing conservative about stealing and trying to keep national security documents.
