This is a book about failure. The Senate, specifically the Republican Senators, failed us. For four years we had Donald Trump who failed at being President. And that was compounded by the failure of the Republican Senators to check his power. I thank Netgalley for the chance to read it before publication.

The full title is The Betrayal: How Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans Abandoned America and that pretty much sums it all up.

Remember when they taught civics in school and we learned about checks and balances in the Constitution. The founders of our county were wise man but they were also honorable. They just could not imagine a scenario where both the President and so many in the Senate were dishonorable and a disgrace to America. But that is just me ranting so back to the book.

The author is a former Senate staffer and has written several books on the Senate. He clearly shows his disappointment in the current batch of Republican Senators and particularly in the leadership of Senator Mitch McConnell.
