I think it is obvious that we need to understand why and how the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol occurred with recommendations on how we can prevent future attacks. Yet this investigation is opposed by many Republicans in Congress. They should be ashamed.

If they are able to block legislation to establish a bipartisan 1/6 commision similar to the 9/11 commision, it will be an embarrassment to this county. Should the members of Congress seek other means to investigate this tragedy? Perhaps committee hearings in the Senate and House will help us understand how this came about.

Maybe something else that does not require Republican votes is needed. I think it should be bipartisan whether or not the current Congressional Republicans would like to participate. Despite what we have seen from some politicians, there are Republicans who would be valuable participants.
