In a series of great moves, President Trump seems to be trying to make the current pandemic worse for all Americans, especially middle class and poor Americans. By the way, the death toll in the US is about 200,000 now.

President Trump ‘s first great move in this pandemic was just ignoring the virus causing COVID-19  and hoping for the best.  The World Health Organization (WHO) is concerned in early January and much of the world responds but President Trump just ignores it.  After all, his friends in China might control it or it could just go away.

Then it seems either he or someone in his administration muzzles the CDC so as not to upset the stock market.

Then after someone at CDC lets the cat out of the bag by telling people that this is serious and the stock market falls he appears to take this seriously for a few weeks.  During this brief interval,  the economy collapses and millions become unemployed. many states shutdown and either order or suggest staying at home.

President Trump blames his former friend in China for this and withdraws from the World health Organization (WHO) while blaming the WHO for his incompetence. He suggests miracle cures like hydroxychloroquine and bleach and issues guidelines for safe reopening

Then  President Trump ignores his guidelines and tell states they can reopen.   He encourages rebellion in states that are slower to open.

The United States has the only 4% of the world population but around 20% of deaths due to COVID-19. Our national record on the virus as measured by deaths per 10,000 population is a disgrace.  Trump denies any responsibility for the problem.

And he has backed a law suit to to end the affordable Care Act throwing millions more off their health insurance during this pandemic.

During his campaign he said the US had problems and only he could fix them. We are still waiting.
