There is just too much partisanship. All of us who are citizens of the United States and eligible to vote should consider the good of the country rather than loyalty to any political party. This would also apply to our elected representative in both houses of Congress.

This is why it was pleasant to hear Carly Fiona, a Republican candidate for President a few years ago, say she would vote for Joe Biden because she cannot support the re-election of President Trump.

An article in The Atlantic summarizes this- “She Wanted to Be a Republican President. She’s Voting for Biden. The former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina tells The Ticket that she plans to vote for Joe Biden”.

Carly Fiona is standing-up as an American. She is putting country over party. In this election there are only 2 candidates with any chance of being elected. She does not think President Trump should be re-elected. Therefore she is voting for Joe Biden.

Other Republicans who believe President Trump is unsuitable but they lack the courage to vote for anyone from the other party. They will waste their votes by casting them for someone who will have no chance of being elected.

Here is a list of Republicans who do not support President Trump and who they say they will vote in the presidential election. So far the list of those who will vote for Biden is very short. Many would rather waste their vote.

Most of these Republicans do not even have the tiniest bit of courage to cast a secret ballot that will be one small step toward removing the President who makes “mockery of our Constitution” according to former Secretary of Defense General James Mattis and supporters.

Some may have that much courage but since they do not make a public statements and the ballot is secret we will never know.
