President Trump fails us in so many ways.

Millions are unemployed and a hundred thousand Americans are dead. It did not have to be this bad but President Trump’s months of magical thinking that the COVID-19 pandemic would just go away have led to over 100,000 American deaths and a Great Depression style economy.

Add to that the civil unrest across the country and it certainly seems worse than most of us can remember.

Remember the good old days (less than 24 hour ago) these problems seemed bad and President Trump was being criticized for a lack of response.

Then when President Trump got around to addressing the civil unrest crisis last night, he just further stoked divisions and made things worse by using the military and police to attack peaceful demonstrators so he could have a photo-op at church while waving a bible.

President Trump’s mix which he oddly thinks will propel him to another 4 years in the White House is like his greatest hits mix-tape from the last 100 years or so. We have a bit of pandemic from 1918, economic distress from the Great Depression of the 1930s, some authoritarianism and misinformation from Hitler’s 1930s and 1940s, and civil unrest from 1968.

Is this what Americans really want?
