We are not yet sure of the best term for the FBI investigation into possible sexual assault and attempted rape by a young Brett Kavanaugh. Some actually think a history of such behavior and then lying about it would be a bad trait on a Supreme Court Justice. But what do they know! The confirmation marches on with Republican support.

Words such as farce, cover-up, joke, and incomplete are used (unless you are Republican Senator). There was briefly hope that this madness could be stopped. The Republicans have a majority and can certainly push the nomination forward despite all his problems but at least a few of them at least pretend to care about more than party power.

Senator Jeff Flake stood apart of most of his Republican colleagues and demanded an FBI investigation into the very credible accusations that Brett Kavanaugh had engaged in sexual assault as a young man. And of course if this could be verified, he clearly lied in his testimony, Senator Flake demand a “real investigation”. And Senators Collins and Murkowski seemed to agree.

Of the three, Senators Flake, Collins, and Murowski, only Senator Murkowski was willing to stand-up for the integrity of the Supreme Court and vote not to proceed with the vote on Judge Kavanaugh.
