Does the swamp smell? Are we succeeding in draining the swamp?
We know that AT&T paid Michael Cohen’s company $200,000 or maybe more. It is a bit unclear now exactly how much was paid and what it was for.
AT&T says it was for “insights into understanding the new administration.” (http://money.cnn.com/2018/05/08/media/att-michael-cohen-consulting-payments/index.html).
Once again a bit unclear. What were the insights? Since Cohen “did no legal or lobbying work” , they must have been pretty valuable “insights”. Does this have anything to do with the AT&T-Time Warner deal which is said to be worth 85 billion dollars or net neutrality which could also be worth quite a bit?
AT&T is definitely interested in the government decision in both matters. Will this “insight” help them convince the government that their view should prevail?
Does the swamp smell a bit worse today?
