This is about Matthew Greer. But there are 3 people in my family tree named Matthew Greer and so I specified above that he was the son of John Greer.

This Matthew Greer lived at home, first with his parent and then his widowed mother. In the last record I found on him, he was living with his mother in the 1925 New York census. Then the trail went cold. I could not find him in subsequent census records or in any type of record.

Now I know why. I was looking for information on his uncle (also Matthew Greer) and ran across an abstract of young Matthew’s death certificate on familysearch.org.

Mathew Greer age 25 was still living at his family address of 1487 Amsterdam Ave, New York City when he died on 23 November 1928. No cause of death was in abstract but it did indicate he was buried in St Raymond’s Cemetery.
