So now Matthew Greer, the younger, is a bit less of a mystery to me. I have an arrival from Ireland in 1883 and a death in Great Neck, NY in the 1936. That was covered in Matthew Greer of Great Neck, NY part 1 of this story.

For those not familiar with the New York City area, Great Neck is on the north shore of Long Island. The area in often called the Gold Coast or some might prefer to call it Great Gatsby country.

Found on Newspapers.comBut back to Matthew and his mysteries. When he died, he had an estate worth $ 10,000. In 1936 that was worth much more than the amount would be worth today.

And he was leaving it all to his niece, Jennie Zweifel. From some previous work I knew Jennie, daughter of John (brother of Matthew Greer). Jennie married Charles Zweifel.

End of story, or so I thought for a few days. But it turns out the fate of the Matthew Greer estate was not final and there is more to tell. So look for Part 3 which might take me another 2 or 3 days to finish
