Welcome.
I hope this will be a useful forum for those with REIDY ancestors (or spelling variations of Reidy). There is no need to stick strictly to genealogy. Reidy news or whatever you think may be of interest is welcome.
This is new to me so other than no obscenity and no porn, I’ll just have to make rules as we go along and I see what happens.
jack,
Where was your family from in limerick??? My family is from Kilmeedy. The latest entry about burials in St Ita’s Cem in Kilmeedy caught my eye. My GGrandparents John and Bridget O’Leary Reidy immigrated in 1874 and 75. I have found her parents but no one in the family has ever heard anything about John’s family.
I know there were many Reidy’s in Limerick I have found baptism records for all of their children and the burial records for 3 so my grandfathers siblings seem complete. It’s just that I’m at a loss with John Reidy.
Bonni
They were from Riddlestown (townland), civil parish of Doondonnell, Rathkeale. Just a few miles outside the town of Rathkeale. Seems that is not very far from Kilmeedy.
If you’ve not had a look yet, please see my Gathering of Reidys page at http://www.jackreidy.com/reidy/reidy.htm.
