Will the Wall protect us from invading armies of Mexicans and Central Americans? I don’t think so.

At both ends of the Wall will be open ocean. We might build it from sea to shining sea but those who are motivated will just go around it.

If President Trump was on better terms with French leaders he might ask for a history lesson on the Maginot Line. Or he could read a book or consult his advisers.

I am not a Fox News commentator so I do not know if he will see this but here is a very short version. In the 1930s the French build a line of fortifications to protect them against possible German invasion. The Nazi Armies (aka the Germans) invaded by simply going around it. Stupid then and even stupider now.

Of course this was a line of fortifications rather that a wall but the same logic applies.

We can build it so high that it will tough to get over. Some might be able to. Others might tunnel under it. Some might argue a tunnel under the border is unlikely but it has been done.

So I am pretty sure the wall will not protect us from the invading armies of migrants. Then there is the question of are there invading armies. Then is it worth spending billions on an ineffective means of border security just to partly fulfill a broken promise ?
