Generally, the Republican response to any mass shooting is that it is ‘too soon’ to talk about it, our ‘thoughts and prayers’ go out to victims, and then to stop anybody who tries to do something useful. Of course, this is just my opinion based on years of observation. They blocked legislation after Newtown, CT. They did nothing after Sutherland Springs, TX or Las Vegas NV. They seem ready to do nothing again. Are Republicans the Party of Death ?

Here a few examples. Speaker Paul Ryan tells gun control protesters that he doesn’t want to talk politics at the republican fundraiser and has the protesters removed. I thought politicians did talk politics there but maybe they just collect money in silence.

Senator Ted Cruz said Democrats were using the mass shootings in Parkland to push a political agenda and added that increased gun control is “not the right answer.” Senate leader Mitch McConnell is “deeply saddened” but if the past is any indication will do nothing constructive on guns.

Republicans became known as the Party of Ignorance, because of their oppostion to science and many other types of knowlege.

Then during the Obama presidency, they became known as the Party of No because they opposed almost everything. But they did not give up their Ignorance title.

Now that we have many years of opposing gun control measures perhaps we could add a third title. Are Republicans the Party of Death ?
