I’m impressed with GenealogyBank. I took a trial for a month and impressed with the number of old newspapers on the website and the ease of finding information.
I like the newspaper search but I’m still learning. I think the search function works better than the one at Ancestry and there is quite a collection of newspapers to search. But still it would be nice to have more options for searching.
So far I’ve had better luck on my family lines in Maryland and Delaware than those in New York City. But at least part of that is due to relatively common names in a big city as discussed previously. Despite my ancestors being mostly obscure, they got into the papers at times.
I was impressed enough with my findings in the trial that I decided to go ahead and renew for a full year. I found GenealogyBank worthwhile in my case.
